Avila’s Roofing has been issued citations alleging two willful and two serious safety violations and one other-than-serious violation, as well as $323,143 in proposed penalties for fall hazards in Pennsylvania, the Labor Department said Wednesday.
The Occupational Health and Safety Administration said inspectors found employees of the Wilkes-Barre, Pa., company working at heights of up to 27 feet without fall protection. They also alleged Avila’s Roofing didn’t provide employees with proper fall hazard training or require the use of eye and face protection, according to the agency.
