Nissan North America Inc. will recall more than 230,000 vehicles due to an issue with the steering mechanism.

Tie rods in some of the company’s 2020-2022 Sentra vehicles may bend, which could cause a loss of steering control, according to a filing to the US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration dated Aug. 15.

Nissan owners have been asked to contact dealers if they experience issues with their steering and can expect faulty tie rods to be inspected and replaced free of charge.
