Microsoft, Activision Deal Back in Play as UK Reopens Probe (3)

The UK opened a fresh probe into Microsoft Corp.’s $69 billion Activision Blizzard Inc. acquisition after the tech giant submitted a substantially different deal to, the country’s antitrust watchdog effectively breathing life into a deal recently thought moribund.

In a rare move, the Competition and Markets Authority said it was reconsidering the offer from Microsoft after it said it would sell the rights of all current and future Activision games released during the next 15 years Ubisoft Entertainment SA. The divestment doesn’t include the European Economic Area, the CMA said.
