Jersey Assembly Considers Bill to Increase Certain Stamp Duty Rates

The Jersey States Assembly Aug. 17 accepted for consideration Bill No. P.63/2023, to increase stamp duty rates for transactions with property values of over 2 million Jersey pounds (US$2.5 million). The bill includes measures to increase rates for transactions of: 1) over 2 million pounds to 3 million pounds (US$3.8 million), to 74,500 pounds (US$94,800) for the first 2 million pounds, plus 7.50 pounds (US$9.54) (from 7 pounds (US$8.90)) for each 100 pounds (US$127) or part of 100 pounds in excess; 2) over 3 million pounds to 6 million pounds (US$7.6 million), to 149,500 pounds (US$190,333) (from 144,500 (US$183,998)) for ...
