Updates to the transmittal form for corrected paper Puerto Rico withholding statements filed with the Social Security Administration were released Aug. 16 by the Internal Revenue Service.
The new revision of Form W-3c (PR), Transmittal of Corrected Wage and Tax Statements, removes references to Puerto Rico-specific federal employment tax returns, which are to be discontinued after 2023, replacing them with their standard variations.
The form is used to transmit Puerto Rico’s Forms 499R-2c/W-2cPR, Corrected Withholding Statement, to the SSA.
Form W-3c (PR) was last revised in December 2015. Unlike the standard Form W-3c, the form is fillable online.
