The Indian state of Goa updated its base minimum wage rates for the first time since 2016 in a series of notifications that took effect Aug. 11.
Under the notifications, base daily minimum wages range from 407 Indian rupees (US$4.90) to 570 Indian rupees for all listed industries, depending on skill level and, in some cases, location in the state.
Workers in all industries listed in the notification are also required to receive dearness allowances of 105 Indian rupees, which is to be adjusted every six months on Oct. 1 and April 1.
