Google’s Ethics Arguments ‘Deficient’ in Ad Tech Case, DOJ Says

The Department of Justice moved to throw out a pair of Alphabet Inc.'s defenses and related requests for sensitive documents in a wide-ranging case targeting Google’s alleged domination of online advertisement technology.

The DOJ and 17 states called two of Google’s arguments against their case “legally and factually deficient” in a filing last week in the US District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia. The defenses and related discovery requests focus on antitrust division chief Jonathan Kanter and his prior work in private practice relating to Google and ad tech.
