The Federal Circuit denied First Alert Inc. and BRK Brands Inc.'s petition for a writ of mandamus directing a federal district court in Texas to grant their motion to transfer Walter Kidde Portable Equipment Inc.'s patent infringement action to a federal district court in Illinois. According to the appeals court, the district court’s denial of transfer wasn’t such a clear abuse of discretion that it produced a patently erroneous result.
