A federal district court in California granted an Amazon.com Services Inc. employee’s motion for judgment and denied Hartford Life & Accident Insurance Co.'s motion for judgment in this ERISA action challenging the denial of benefits for long-term disability for a lumbar vertebral traumatic wedge compression fracture caused by an accidental fall. According to the court, the employee has proven by a preponderance of the evidence that he was disabled under the terms of the policy and was wrongfully denied long-term disability benefits.
