Two air ambulance companies filed a lawsuit against Health Care Service Corp. alleging they weren’t paid nearly $1 million in fees they were awarded under No Surprises Act arbitration.
Guardian Flight LLC and Med-Trans Corp. filed a complaint Aug. 18 in the US District Court for the Northern District of Texas against HCSC, a Blue Cross and Blue Shield Association health insurer, alleging it didn’t make the payments within 30 days of determinations made by independent dispute resolution entities as required by the law (Public Law No. 116-260).
